Rehearsal, 28th May 2008.

Normally I like to post about funny or interesting stories from our rehearsals.  This is the least interesting story ever, but it made us laugh alot.

Adam was on the phone to the singer from an old band.  She was with her new boyfriend who works at the post office.  She said to Adam that her boyfriend wanted to speak to him and passed the phone over.  He said “Just wanted to tell you that I sorted a letter for you yesterday.  Should be with you by Tuesday” and handed the phone back.  Adam’s reaction was the funny bit.  Said he had never heard anything more pointless!

It was a bit like when you meet someone at a party and have nothing to talk about and strive to find something, anything in common, like the fact that you both have relatives in America or both once met someone who had once met Rick Astley.

The other funny moment was when Adam (who apparently provides all the humour) made a mistake and said it was because “I was trying to get the coke off my face”. How rock and roll is that! Only it was a cola drink he was talking about, so not really.

Rehearsal, 19th May 2008

May 22, 2008 at 2:56 pm (Silverthorn)

Adam complained that I never blog anymore. The main reason for that is that we haven’t rehearsed in 3 weeks and so there’s not been much to say! Nonetheless here’s an update.

  • Adam said some funny stuff.
  • Mike said some stuff no one understood because he makes words up.
  • Ruth tried to be clever.
  • Robb played lots of widdly stuff and complained about not having a whammy bar.

Typical rehearsal really…

Funny thing, though, music.  We’d been learning two new songs for this rehearsal.  We all thought Crazy Nights by Kiss was easier and would sound better.  Actually, Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi (like you didn’t know who did living on a prayer) sounded much better, despite being more musically complex.  Adam said it was because it is a song that has been etched onto our souls.  He’s probably right.  Wonder what else is written there…
