Velvet Revolver fire Scott Weiland
Following this news, lets hope that Whitesnake and Def Leppard don’t split up two weeks after we see them.
We’ve got a gig!!!
The ultimate test is here… How will be public react to our cheese rock?
Come and find out, Sunday 27th April at 10pm at Joseph’s Well in Leeds.
We’ve Got Fans!
So we were rehearsing on Monday and a drummer from another band who practices at Jam comes in. Turns out she’s injured her knee and can’t play, so was apparently wandering around the other rooms to see what everyone else was up to. She asked if we would play something for her, so we did the next song on our list – Feel like making love – and she loved it so much she went and got her wife and friend to come and listen to us play another song. Best compliment of the night – “why aren’t you guys gigging yet?”! Of course our first reply was “because Mike still hasn’t organised anything”.
How Fast Are We?
Have finally figured out where we’ve been going wrong…
Adam has been comparing how fast we’ve been playing the songs compared to the originals (he must have way too much time on his hands!) using a trusty old metronome (no fancy computer technology here!), and as you all liked the last set of graphs so much, here’s some new ones for you (provided courtesy of Adam):
Comparison of song bpm played by original artists vs silverthorn
Percentage speed increase per song
Following these revelations, we actually tried rehearsing along with a metronome… It was so much easier to play and sing the songs once we’d slowed down! To be honest I think we all just get a bit overexcited at times…
Another band has a gig and we don’t!!
OK, thought I’d point out that Jo and Lawrence have a gig at the New Rosco next Monday 14th April – 8-10PM.
Now if we could just convince Cas to stop being pregnant we could get a gig!
😆
